In his September 2008 article for Motor Magazine, Dan Marinucci makes two observations regarding the servicing of the Prius that can easily be applied to any alternative-fuel vehicle.
1. “informed, competent techs can do the work as easily as they do on any other vehicle. “
2. “typical Prius clientele tend to be people who understand the value of maintenance and will spend money on proper upkeep.”
The remainder of the article discusses a few “routine maintenance opportunities” for the Prius that do not directly involve the HV system:
- Oil Changes
- Activating Inspection Mode
- Transaxle Fluid Service
- Engine Coolant Services
